LAW

For the last nine years I have been practising in the areas of property, commercial and private client law. Right now, I am enjoying delving into complex sales and purchases – whether it be land, businesses or residential.  I work really hard to ensure that the more complicated aspects of law are presented in a way which is easy for clients to understand. My clients tell me I am down to earth and easy to deal with – and that says to me that I am doing a good job for them.

  • The sale and purchase of residential real estate
    • First home purchases
    • New home builds (including House and Land and ‘Turn-key’ packages)
    • KiwiSaver first home withdrawal
    • Kainga Ora First Home Grant
  • The sale and purchase of rural land
  • Occupation Right Agreement – Retirement Villages
  • Residential tenancies
  • Commercial leases
  • Subdivisions
  • The sale and purchase of businesses – shares & assets
  • Business Terms of Trade
  • Company incorporation
  • Refinances

Private Client

  • Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988 applications for Property Managers and Welfare Guardians

EDUCATION

LLB, University of Canterbury

BA (History and Classics) – University of Canterbury

I believe it is important to continue my education and keep up with law changes. I have attended the following seminars in the last 12 months:

  • The new Land Transfer Act and Regulations 2018.
  • Asset Protection.
  • Unit Titles Update 2019 Experience

EXPERIENCE

I have worked in Canterbury my whole legal career which has given me a real insight into the issues that arose from the earthquakes. Working in two mid-size law firms gave me a broad practice touching on everything from employment agreements to purchasing a national franchise. Focusing on property and commercial law was an easy decision for me given its challenges and ultimate rewards for the happy client.

I am married with 2 young children who take up the majority of my spare time! When I do have time, I love to read a good book or watch a good movie.
