LAW

For the last nine years I have been practising in the areas of property, commercial and private client law. Right now, I am enjoying delving into complex sales and purchases – whether it be land, businesses or residential.  I work really hard to ensure that the more complicated aspects of law are presented in a way which is easy for clients to understand. My clients tell me I am down to earth and easy to deal with – and that says to me that I am doing a good job for them.

    • First home purchases
    • New home builds (including House and Land and ‘Turn-key’ packages)

  • Commercial leases
  • Subdivisions
  • The sale and purchase of businesses – shares & assets

EDUCATION

LLB, University of Canterbury

BA (History and Classics), University of Canterbury

I believe it is important to continue my education and keep up with law changes. I have attended the following seminars in the last 12 months:

  • Retirement Village Option
  • LINZ/Property Law Section/LENZ
  • Trusts Act
  • Practicing Professionally in the Pandemic
  • The ADLS/REINZ Agreement for Sale and Purchase of Real Estate (11th Edition)
  • Stepping Forward (Wellness) Programme
  • Franchising Update
  • Canterbury Women's Legal Assocation Conference

EXPERIENCE

I have worked in Canterbury my whole legal career which has given me a real insight into the issues that arose from the earthquakes. Working in two mid-size law firms gave me a broad practice touching on everything from employment agreements to purchasing a national franchise. Focusing on property and commercial law was an easy decision for me given its challenges and ultimate rewards for the happy client.

I am married with 2 young children who take up the majority of my spare time! When I do have time, I love to read a good book or watch a good movie.
